Akiavel - Invictus - LP COLOURED

For their fourth album InVictus (translated as “invincible”, “unbeaten”), AKIAVEL have composed and honed each track with precision but without compromise. The raw energy of the French band is evident, as is the power of their music, percussive, incisive and captivating. The melodies, the rhythm, the vocals: everything has been created to accurately convey the intensity of contradictory and complex emotions: pain on the one hand, courage and hope on the other.

Here, AKIAVEL further asserts its identity, this subtle blend of styles and influences now characteristic of the band, while offering tracks with an ever more marked personality. The band's Thrash Metal influences can be found in their edgy tracks with sharp riffs (“Heart in Chrysanthemum”), their contemporary Death Metal style in tracks with fearsomely effective explosive rhythms (“Promise to My Daughter”), but also in AKIAVEL's preferred style: melodic Death Metal, with tracks as intense as they are moving, combining darkness and melody (“Oozing Concrete”, “Lights for Life”).

With InVictus, AKIAVEL continues its irresistible rise. Technical, moving and powerful, this major album, with its meticulous aesthetic, reflects the musical maturity acquired by the band over the years, and confirms AKIAVEL's place as one of the essential bands on the French and European extreme metal scene.
