The effort was widely noted for its effective merging of classic and contemporary post-punk and darkwave sensibilities, and somewhat poetic use of prose and metaphor in expressing the trials and joys of the world in which we now find ourselves. This was followed by a remixes EP, featuring reimagined tracks by artists such as ACTORS, Clan of Xymox, Chris Vrenna, John Fryer, and Ritual Howls. Singer\/guitarist Matt McIntosh and bassist Beth Narducci immediately began work on a new album in the spring of 2021, completed by autumn, and mastered by Jason Corbett at Jacknife Sound that December.
