Rolling Stone magazine stated, “While some of the ideas at play here are somewhat wrongheaded, it takes a certain demented genius to recognize Iggy Pop's 'Success' as the Gary Glitter tune it was meant to be or to redo '911 Is a Joke' so it sounds more like Beck than like Public Enemy”. Lou Reed was later heard to comment that, “Duran Duran's version of ‘Perfect Day’ was \"the best cover ever completed of one of my own songs.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDuring the album’s recording, the band laid down numerous early versions of the songs that would end up on the final cut, and many of these are now collected on this new 2LP set.
