Eardis the Old English noun for land, country andhome. Consisting inharpist Glorya Lyr and multi-instrumentalist MK (Silence Thereafter, Duir),the band borrowed the title for their debut De RerumNatura from the poem by Roman author Lucretius, composed in the first centuryBC andtranslated as On The Nature Of Things. After contributing to SaorForgotten Paths, writingand performing theclosing track “Exile”,Eardset forth to craft theirown music. The band’s focus is to investigate human nature, of whichDeRerum Naturadepictsseveral aspects mainly related to Old English andItalian poetics. The duo has solid roots in melodic black metal, andadds their own twistwith the extensive use of the celtic harp, the stringsof which constantlyintertwine with the classic black metal equipment. The result of such isDeRerum Natura, a familiar yet extremely personal blendof atmospheric,nature-infused black metal.Eardhas no singer, as the harp takes the stage inlieu of a voice, hencebeing always in foreground. This does not mean thereare no words inEardmusic, as the duo hosts three different guests injust as many songs.Saverio “Nartum” Giove (Emyn Muil) sings in the opening“NocturnalLandscapes”, Emilio Crespo (Sojourner) screams inthe titletrack, whileDéhà (Slow, Wolvennest, and many others) contributesto the final"Eardstapa".Avantgarde Musicwill proudly release the Italianduo debut on CD and LPat the end of summer.
