Exmortus - Legions Of The Undead - CD EP DIGIPAK

  • Description

After a five-year stretch of aggressive touring during which they showcased their shimmering sound of steel before tens of thousands of fans around the globe, neoclassical shredders EXMORTUS keep the pedal pressed firmly to the metal with “Legions of the Undead,” a new horror-themed EP featuring two new original songs alongside covers of Danny Elfman's “Beetlejuice” theme and Bernard Hermann's iconic “Psycho Theme” and a stirring rendition of 19th Century Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky's “Night On Bald Mountain.”

At this point, it's almost easier to list bands that EXMORTUS hasn't shared the stage with as it is to recap the list of names they've performed alongside, but such an impressive tour resume deserves to be celebrated: Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, Dark Tranquillity, Kreator, Sabaton, Marty Friedman, Obituary and Abbath, among many others. This fall, the the Los Angeles-based group will add another feather to their chain mail cap when they support “Legions of the Undead” on a five-week tour alongside thrash legends Death Angel, which will lead the band straight into 2020 – a year in which they plan to continue to pound the pavement while writing their next full-length album, the follow-up to 2018's acclaimed “The Sound of Steel.”

“Legions of the Undead” marks the recording debut of the EXMORTUS lineup that's logged numerous miles on the road together – founding guitarist/vocalist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez, guitarist Chase Becker (also of Warbringer), bassist Cody Nunez and drummer Adrian Aguilar. The EP was tracked with longtime producer Zack Ohren (Machine Head, Fallujah, Suffocation) and features vivid artwork by Toha “AHOT” Mashudi (Alterbeast, Sector, Anubis, Demoniciduth).
