Gorath's new album, The Chronicles of Khiliasmos, will also be the last ever Gorath album that'll be unleashed on this earth.
But instead of lamenting the burial of Gorath, it's a time to rejoice: their sixth full-length marks a tremendous termination point for this Belgian black metal outfit.Gorath's path has been one of exploring experimental digressions and steering into more progressive waters with every release - to much critical acclaim.Their latest and last offering displays a band that has fully embraced their position at the vanguard of extreme metal. The Chronicles of Khiliasmos renders a matured and seasoned take on progressive or post-black metal.
The slow, doomy and complex ambient compositions not only characterize the sound of Gorath at its culmination point, it also hints at the future and of what to be expected after Gorath's funeration.
Although this end is a pathway to a new beginning, it's only appropriate to first take some time to mourn the loss for the Belgian metal scene, and to savor Gorath's legacy and relish this last supper.
