Much can be said about Norwegian black metal superhero Abbath Doom Occulta. Going from spearheading holocaust metal-legends Immortal to a now highly successful solo career with his own band, he is also the highlight of many interview sequences and concerts on YouTube. He stands as a monument of rock stardom, a larger-than-life character, but still a caring and sharing type of guy in the eyes of those who is fortunate enough to meet him.
Many remember the first time Immortal split up in 2003 in which resulted in Abbath´s first solo project, namely I. I had a rather short-lived career mostly due to the return of the masters of Nebulah frost the same year as I - «Between Two Worlds» was released in 2006. The album however never got the repress it deserved, so we at ECP thought it was about bloody time.
The band behind the record consists of Abbath (songwriting/guitars/vocals), Ice Dale (guitars), Armagedda (drums), TC King (bass) and of course Demonaz (lyrics).
In many ways this was the closest thing you got to a new Immortal album between 2002 and 2009, due to the fact that both Doom Occultas are participating and early Immortal drum legend Armagedda Herfindal is playing the drums. The rest of the line up; Arve Isdal from and Enslaved and former Gorgoroth bass player TC King made this into a mid 2000 supergroup at the time. Being active from 2005 – 2007, this bands only release is now available again from ECP under license from Nuclear Blast.
