Inhuman - GLORIÆ - LP

INHUMAN, a cornerstone of Portuguese gothic metal, was formed in December 1992 in the Algarve, specifically in Silves, one of Portugal’s oldest and most historic cities.

Over more than three decades, the band has stayed true to its raw energy, passion, and creativity—evolving without ever losing its essence. Since their debut album “Strange Desire” in 1996, followed by the seminal “Foreshadow” in 1998, Inhuman have stood out for blending their influences with a unique musical identity, setting themselves apart within the national metal scene.

In 2020, the band released “CONTRA,” produced by Daniel Cardoso (Anathema, Angelus Apatrida, Ava Inferi) and released by Alma Mater Records, the label led by Moonspell’s Fernando Ribeiro. This album marked Inhuman’s powerful return to the studio, earning widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike, and further cementing the band’s status.

Their return in 2025 is marked by their fourth studio album, “GLORIÆ.” Inspired by the Latin word for “of glory,” this new work delves deeply and sensitively into individual journeys of growth, overcoming obstacles, and self-discovery. Written during a challenging period for the band and once again produced by Daniel Cardoso, “GLORIÆ” stands as Inhuman’s most mature and daring album to date, reflecting remarkable growth and a bold artistic vision.

Lyrically, the album uses glory—or its absence—as a metaphor for personal struggles, resilience, and triumphs, celebrating the relentless search for meaning. Visually, the band has chosen a minimalist aesthetic, where presence and absence are central themes, inviting listeners to reflect and interpret the subjective nature of glory.

As Inhuman themselves put it:
“At this stage of our career, we feel the need to strip away unnecessary layers, both visually and conceptually. The focus is clear: the music must speak louder than any image. Our approach with ‘GLORIÆ’ is simple yet bold—let the music be at the heart of our existence.”
