Noblesse Oblige - Privilege Entails Responsibility - CD

  • Description

Originally released in the UK only in 2006, this is the album that established Noblesse Oblige on the international Indie/Electro scene with early club hits such as Bitch, Daddy (Don’t Touch Me There) and Offensive Nonsense.Like its successor IN EXILE, the album contains a wild mix of musical references, from the gothic blues of “Nervous” over Prokofiev-sampling “Caligula” to Gallic pop tribute “Quel Genre de Garcon” and soundtrack ballad “Night Train To Krakow”. The album’s raw and energetic, gloomy art-pop combined with the band’s trademark lyrical wit and dark humour has gained Noblesse Oblige a growing cult following, resulting in more than 300 Live shows over the past 4 years. The album contains previously unreleased bonus material such as cover versions of Eric Burdon’s When I Was Young and Stephanie de Monaco’s Ouragan/Irresistible which were recorded for Edwin Brienen’s 2008 arthouse movie “L’Amour Toujours” in which Valerie and Sebastian also co-starred as actors. Also included are 8 remixes from befriended artists as diverse as Musiccargo (Amontillado Music), Toulouse Low Trax (Kreidler/Salon des Amateurs), Mona Mur, En Esch (ex-KMFDM), Avius and Laurent Ho. Finally, the album also includes the 2 only remixes of In Exile songs – the band’s own disco edit of Tanz, Mephisto! and Mark Reeder’s remix of Duel.
