Sorrow.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThey followed this with a string of albums in the 1970's which saw line ups changes and a firm following in the States.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSilk Torpedo is the seventh album by the band and their second without Wally Waller, the group's rhythm guitarist\/bassist since 1967.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe album is in line with the times, exuding a more glam rock feel, contrasting from their earlier R\u0026amp;B psychedelic work.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA solid album from back to front, it offers a new side to the band, beginning with ‘Dream’, an instrumental prelude before launching into ‘Joey,’ a superb combination of piano boogie, crashing drums, and melodramatic choruses draped in Hammond organ.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e‘Maybe You Tried’ is a glittering slice of glam rock with a simply killer guitar hook from Pete Tolson.
