Schizo are one of the most important and historic bands in European extreme metal. Considered a cult act within the Italian underground scene, they released in 1989 their masterpiece Main Frame Collapse, which immediately reached the top of the independent album charts. Soon after, a significant side project was born — Mondocane – Project One — created by Alberto together with Peso, drummer of Necrodeath, and equally inspired by the sound of both musicians’ bands. During the 1990s, the line-up changed, with Vittorio and Pat replacing Ingo and Alberto. In 1993, the band released the mini CD Sounds Of Coming Darkness, recorded by none other than Steve Harris at Fon Studios, where Fear Factory were working on Soul Of A New Machine. Time passed until the release of Cicatriz Black (2007, Scarlet Records), mastered by renowned engineer Peter In De Betou (Marduk, Meshuggah). The cover artwork was created by Lorenzo Mariani (Mayhem, Darkthrone). Many notable artists contributed to the album, including Steve Sylvester (Death SS), A.C. Wild (Bulldozer), and Flegias (Necrodeath). After some line-up changes, Hallucination Cramps was released in 2010, followed by the latest chapter, Rotten Spiral, after signing with Punishment 18 Records.
