Stephen Crane & Duane Sciacqua had found creative gold with their collaboration on the criminally overlooked 'Kicks' album in 1984. Due to Irving Azoff's departure at MCA that year, "Kicks" was left without any marketing or promotional funds. Stephen Crane & Duane Sciacqua continued their quest to write and record new songs with band mates Paul Daniel & Matt MacKelvie and Big Guns was founded in 1985. Musically its very reminiscent of Sammy Hagar, 38 Special and what Paul Sabu would do later with his Only Child project. Stephen Crane has a voice possessing the same rich tones as Hagar and Sabu. This is mostly riff heavy, melodic hard rock with superb harmonies and uplifting, atmospherics. Still, no contract was signed and this great material has been lying around since then. In the last years "Kicks" was re-released twice in Europe with rave reviews and received its popular acclaim, and the search for the long forgotten tapes was on.
