Superb triple disc set of Clash broadcast recordings. Includes 'London Calling', 'Train In Vain', 'Clampdown', '(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais', 'Guns Of Brixton', 'Complete Control' and many more!
When punk arrived in the UK in the mid-seventies it sent shock waves around the country. Spearheading the musical assault on all we had previously known were The Clash, a mighty punk rock machine that exhilarated its audience and recklessly combined influences such as dub reggae, rockabilly and ska.
This fantastic triple disc collection brings together three classic broadcast recordings from the years 1979 to 1982. First up on disc one is the band's incendiary gig at The Palladium, New York in 1979 in support of their "Give 'Em Enough Rope" album. This raucous show captures the band at their peak, performing material from "The Clash", "Give ’Em Enough Rope" and the soon to be released album "London Calling". Next up, disc two captures The Clash at their best on stage in Amsterdam during the Impossible Mission Tour in 1981. Featuring a strong "Sandinista!"-era set, as well as the cream of "London Calling". Disc three concludes this delightful set with their 1982 Tokyo gig, during the band's tour of the Far East. Here we’ve got The Clash powering through 13 songs including the hits 'London Calling', 'This Is Radio Clash' and 'Tommy Gun'.
