Yazmin Lacey - Morning Matters - LP

Nottingham-based soul singer Yazmin Lacey welcomes in a fresh decade with new single, Not Today Mate. The song - which is inspired by self-determination and moving on to better situations - is lifted from a forthcoming EP and is Lacey's first single since 2018's Something My Heart
Trusts, which has clocked up over 4.3 million plays on Spotify. Yazmin Lacey didn’t set out to be a singer. Born and raised in Manor Park, East London, she relocated to Nottingham whilst working for a children's charity and initially only considered making music as a way of having fun with friends. However, a chance encounter lead to her earning a place on Future Bubblers - Gilles Peterson’s development programme devoted to discovering and nurturing fresh UK talent. Enthused by the experience, Lacey started writing and recording songs in her living room, then in 2017 self-released debut EP, Black Moon, and her When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees EP in 2018.
