Angel Dust is a German band that emerged in the late 1980s as a thrash metal group before evolving into a more melodic and refined sound, leaning towards progressive power metal. After releasing Into the Dark Past (1986) and To Dust You Will Decay (1988), the band disbanded for several years, returning in 1998 with Border of Reality, marking a stylistic shift towards elaborate power metal with melancholic atmospheres. Their success grew with Bleed (1999) and Enlighten the Darkness (2000), albums characterized by intense melodies, sophisticated arrangements, and deep lyrics. After Of Human Bondage (2002), the band entered a long period of inactivity, with sporadic comeback announcements finally materializing in the 2020s, keeping their legacy alive in the metal scene.
