FUNNY UGLY CUTE KARMA is a new metal band formed in April 2017 by singer and composer Adeline « Chaos Heidi » Bellart and multi-instrumentalist guitarist and composer Dorian Gilbeau.

As long biographies are quite boring and nobody cares for them, let’s skip the several months of work, the demos and so on and directly jump to the result: a first 4-track EP with 3 original songs and a cover of « Radio/Video » by System Of A Down, all produced, mixed and mastered at Tower Studio in Montpellier by Brett Caldas-Lima (Devin Townsend, Septicflesh, Cynic, Ayreon, Adagio…).

Funny Ugly Cute Karma’s purpose is to produce independent music, free of style codes, emphasizing the personality and expression of each song. Influences are wide. The most obvious ones would be System Of A Down, Gojira, Rage Against The Machine or Eths, but you could also find now and then pop or jazzy references, coming from outside the metal sphere and its codes, bringing some unexpected colors.

The link? Adeline’s sometimes crazy and schizophrenic vocals as well as the instrumental energy that emerges from the whole thing. Energy and Power, but also versatility and derision. Contradiction and duality. All this can describe Funny Ugly Cute Karma: an oxymoron, like Ugly vs Cute, but also funny, as Karma can sometimes be, when it leads you out of your comfort zone.
