Jag Panzer is an American heavy metal band formed in 1981 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Considered pioneers of American power metal, they gained notoriety with their debut album Ample Destruction (1984), a work that profoundly influenced the genre with its powerful riffs and epic melodies. Led by the charismatic vocalist Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin and guitarist Mark Briody, the band has undergone several lineup changes but has maintained a distinctive style true to its metal roots. After a hiatus in the 1990s, Jag Panzer returned to action, releasing albums like Thane to the Throne (2000), a concept album based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, which solidified their status as a cult band. To this day, Jag Panzer continues to perform live and release new music, demonstrating a rare musical integrity and unwavering dedication to the genre.
