Michael Moravek's new solo album 'November' contains 10 original songs available as digisleeve CD, 180 g vinyl and digital download. It was recorded by Thomas Fuchs at Theater Ravensburg and mastered by Grammy winner Brian Leach at Joyride Studio, Chicago, where Moravek has recorded the predecessor 'In Transit (Is What We Are)'. Originally Moravek has written the songs for a play called November In My Soul, that he performs together with German actor Bernd Wengert. The play is inspired by Melville's story of Moby Dick. Moravek doesn't like his music beeing assigned to a particular genre, but according to the strong visual imagination his songs develop he calls it music for films. The poignancy of the songwriter, guitarist and singer can be heard on the very first digital single from the album. Lost At Sea is a drifty song, melancholic and confident, powerful and fragile likewise. Portside and starboard he is flanked by drums, bass, guitar and piano. Salty spray sweeps overboard, planks creak and in the end the ship can't stand the brute forces. An atmoshperic and poetic piece of Americana spiked with allegories and references.
