  • Description

NYDVIND was created in November 2000 by Richard Loudin, also lead singer in the Celtic metal band BRAN BARR.

After some line-up changes, the band got stabilized in 2002 with the arrival of Eric Tabourier on drums, Nesh on bass and Loïc Courtete on guitar.

The band released its debut album “Eternal Winter Domain” in 2003 on French label Sacral Productions. Shortly after, the band hired a new drummer in the name of JuanJo Esquivel.

In April 2006, NYDVIND started its “Heathen over Europe” first European tour supporting Kampfar. For this event, “Eternal Winter Domain” was re-released by Adipocere Records with a limited edition including 3 bonus songs.

2007 and 2008 were calm years during which the band mainly searched for a new record deal.
After 2 years of silence, NYDVIND got back on stage in December 2008 for the 1 Pagan Metal Festival in France: the Cernunnos Pagan Festival in Paris. The show was filmed and several live videos were recorded on this night.

Due to the moving of Spanish drummer JuanJo back to Spain, the band called back his original drummer Eric Tabourier in mid 2009.

The band finally signed with German label TROLLZORN in October 2009 and released January the 29th 2010 the long awaited second album, "Sworn to the Elders".

NYDVIND released in 2011 the track Wrath and Wisdom on a split vinyl with Bornholm.

The band will release their third album, Seas of Oblivion, in January 2018. Based on the vision of a sailor, this album is leading the auditor across the seas.
