Reliquiae - Gestrichen - CD DIGIPAK

The fifth studio album by the band Reliquiae contains string versions of previous songs In the course of the RELIQUIAE anniversary, something special was to be created - an album that presented an extraordinary look back at everything that had gone before. Already for the last studio album "Babylon" an additional version was created for "Scheintod" as an arrangement for string quartet. RELIQUIAE took this as an opportunity to select eleven songs from all previous albums, in the new arrangement of which Bastus' voice is carried by the sound of a string quartet. This creates completely new sound impressions, in which passages come to the fore that could not be heard in the original version before, and in which the interplay of vocals and string sounds creates new atmospheres. The arrangements were penned by Svea Elderthal, who also recorded the two violin and viola parts. For the cello part, RELIQUIAE worked with Stella-Lucia, a long-time friend of Svea from their time together in the orchestra. The arrangement of the selected songs for string quartet not only represents a heart project for RELIQUIAES violinist from a musical point of view, but also draws a bow to her musical origins in classical music in the cooperation with Stella-Lucia. With "streicher" RELIQUIAE has created something special that shows the potential of the band on many levels. While the recording management was independently in Bastus' hands, the artwork with Breacán's work also came from the band's internal capacity. With this album, the listeners are taken on a journey from the familiar to a new world of sound: delicate to brute string sounds, a wide space for the vocals, a special feature with Chris Harms from LORD OF THE LOST. "Deleted" connects the past with visions for the future - RELIQUIAE pure and unadulterated.
