SHORELINE are releasing their third full length TO FIGURE OUT, which most remarkable feature is its musical superposition: a stringent emo/hardcore record, simultaneously containing experimental, fast disco tracks influenced by contemporary pop music. Coming from their first two records EAT MY SOUL (2019, Uncle M Music) and GROWTH (2022, END HITS RECORDS), the band had already released a body of work by their midtwenties. Still their new record TO FIGURE OUT feels like a completely new chapter: After a member change, it is the first full length the band has written together in their new combo, the creative team behind the record changed, now working with Chris Teti (Silverbullet Studios, Anxious, Fiddlehead, The World is A Beautiful Place…) and signing to their new label Pure Noise Records. Singer Hansol Seung comments on the record: “There is this stereotype floating around saying the third record is the hardest one for a band, I read that saying a hundred times in interviews or magazines. I think I disagree. This feels like our first record, everything is new, exciting and fresh. TO FIGURE OUT is a collection of songs that all have one shared thought/recognition: everything is a process. I love how the topics on the record are so diverse, - there are songs about my journey of reclaiming my cultural heritage as a korean-german, a lot of political anger and comments on the climate crisis and straight up love songs.”
