All good things come in threes. And so, for Winter, "Heroes" is something like the third part of a trilogy.
A trilogy that began in 2021 with the highly acclaimed album "Pale Horse", continued in 2022 with the darker and harder "Fire Rider" and now celebrates its furious finale with "Heroes".
The music of Winter is with the album opener "Pop/Metal/Winter" they present the matching signature song.
After this radio-friendly introduction, things get more serious and gloomy. With its female choirs and deep voice, "Dream Chase" is reminiscent of genre colleagues like Mono Inc. and is already a hit of the black scene. The title song is a rock anthem of the very highest quality, which goes deep (also lyrically in times of war) and has a long lasting effect.
In between, the multi-instrumentalist Markus Winter (drums Hugo Ribeiro from Moonspell, otherwise Markus plays all the instruments himself) serves catchy Pop Rock ("Sugar And Love", "Hot Love"), rough Metal reminiscent of the best times of Megadeth ("Sign Of The Devil"), a Country excursion ("Where The River Meets The Sea") and with "A Dying Man's Pryer" the musically and lyrically oppressive autobiography of a murderer.
The CD version also contains a rocking cover version of the Reinhard Mey chanson "I wanted to sing like Orpheus".
Winter has never been more versatile.
Now is the best time to discover him.
