"Yes, I do heartily repent. I repent I had not done more mischief; and that we did not cut the throats of them that took us, and I am extremely sorry that you aren't hanged as well as we."
    — Anonymous pirate, asked on the gallows if he repented.

Starting with the tale of the real-life naval battle in which pirate Olivier La Bouche defeated Captain John Frost in 1717('Broadside Attack') Calico Jack returns to narrate the exploits of the Golden Age of Piracy in 9 brand new incendiary tracks.

The second album increases the rate of heaviness and speed of the Italian band's pirate metal, but the structure and style of the songs are also more varied than in the past.

Between forays into classic Running Wild-style metal('Bad Fortune'), the cursed thrash of 'Isla de la Muerte' and pure seafaring shanties('Three Cheers to the Shanty Man') Calico Jack sing about the adventure of pirate life and the ruthlessness of the sea in their own style that revisits the classic Scandinavian folk metal of Finntroll and Korpiklaani.

The album includes a sped-up cover of real seafaring song 'Haul Away Joe' and a closing suite dedicated to Sandokan, the Malaysian pirate conceived by Italian writer Salgari.
