With 20 years of writing, releasing, and performing some of Canada's best rock n' roll music under their belt, The Sheepdogs show no sign of slowing down. In 2024, the band bought their catalogue back from Warner and minted their own record label, Sheepdogs Recording Co. The return to independence means The Sheepdogs can write, record and release music more often, looking at each project as a chance to work with new team members and expand their creative and collaborative circles. Now the band is back with new music. Paradise Alone, a 5-song EP ranging from soft yachtrock to the classic windows-down, fast-driving rock and roll The Sheepdogs are known for. Recorded in the legendary Southern Grooves studio with Grammy-award-winning Matt Ross-Spang, mixed by Ross-Spang, and mastered by Grammy-nominated JJ Golden, Paradise Alone pulls on songwriter Currie's Americana, folk, and yacht-rock influences. As the band explores their newfound, or more newly-regained independence, they continue to grow with Paradise Alone being the first of of three releases slated for 2024. In the last 20 years as a band, The Sheepdogs have won multiple JUNOs, earned two platinum record certifications and three gold singles, played thousands of live shows all over including Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia, and even Kazakhstan. The band, comprised of Ewan Currie (lead vocals, guitar), Ryan Gullen (bass), Sam Corbett (drums), Ricky Paquette (lead guitar) and Shamus Currie (keyboards), are experts at traveling a rock show, writing savory hooks and making sure everyone - at a show or listening at home - are having a good time.
