2lp Set Featuring Rare Broadcast And Radio Session Material From Rock Heroes Deep Purple.
Formed in London in 1968, Deep Purple remain among the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock, but their musical approach has changed over the years. Originally formed as a psychedelic rock and progressive band, they shifted to a heavier sound with their 1970 album Deep Purple In Rock.
This fantastic 2LP set contains FM radio sessions and performances from the early years of Deep Purple’s career that were recorded at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios, London, and originally broadcast on various BBC Radio shows, including Radio One's Top Gear programme, which showcased the underground hipster scene of London.
Includes two versions of the band's classic cover of Joe South's "Hush", along with covers of "Hey Joe" and Skip James' "I'm So Glad" and an early take of "Bird Has Flown".
