Founded in Balingen in 2016, the young Germans DEFENDER are part of the new generation of True Metal bands and are one of the sharpest German spearheads in the New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal (NWOTHM). If you had to choose three attributes for DEFENDER, they would be one hundred percent young, wild and metal! Musically located somewhere in the melting pot of old school Teutonic Metal from 1986 and Speed and Heavy Metal of the old Hamburg school with HELLOWEEN and RUNNING WILD, DEFENDER are simply fun. And if you think that this music must sound old and hackneyed nowadays, you have probably never seen the band live with ROSS THE BOSS, NIGHT DEMON, STORMWITCH or at festivals in Germany and abroad. DEFENDER released their debut EP “Rising High” in 2018, followed by the single “Beyond Darkness” in 2019 and their ode “Bang Your Head Again” to the iconic and unfortunately no longer existing Bang Your Head Festival on their doorstep in 2024, all of which caused quite a stir in scene circles. Together with Metalapolis Records, DEFENDER now finally presents their long-awaited debut album "Dying To Live". Recorded at the renowned Empire Studios under the direction of producer Rolf Munkes, the album impresses with razor-sharp riffs, fast double guitar solos, delicate drums and catchy melodies.
