After its inception in 2010, IN CAUDA VENENUM evolved to reach its full potential and deliver an intense and profound Black Metal colored with Post-Rock. Their first concept album, S/t, is shrouded in a morbid shadow and is visually materialized through the paintings of Jeff Grimal (THE GREAT OLD ONES). Ranging from utopia to fatalism, the album depicts human passions and illustrates the porosity between Life and Death through the themes of Art, Legacy, and History.
This second album, “G.O.H.E.”, is a tribute to a mother who was savagely murdered three months after her 10-year-old son sentenced her to death with an imprecation. Her son is James Ellroy, major American writer, master in crime and noir fiction.
The murder remains unsolved. After a long descent into hell, Ellroy found salvation through writing, ever haunted by this terrible question: who killed his mother whom he never knew?
The album explores this passionate, brutal and mystical story. It is devoted to James Ellroy’s redemption, to his eternal, romantic, obsessive, pathological and literary catharsis.
