Music For Cats is an original music project that combines downtempo electronic beats with soothing cat purrs.

From deep within the Swedish forest, Irish music composer Conor Droney (From The Bogs of Aughiska, Drugzilla, Fox Oak) set about creating these unique compositions with the help of his feline friends, Ronja and Freya.

The catalyst for Music For Cats was Droney’s interest in the medical benefits of his cats’ purrs.

A cat purrs within a range of 20-140 Hz which is known to reduce stress levels, lower blood pressure, help heal infections, and even repair bones!

Droney’s imagination was sparked when a speaker at a digital music conference joked that cat noises would be the future of popular music.

With over 8 million streams on Spotify alone, a Solid Ragdoll and a Norwegian Forest cat might just be leading the way.
