Recognized as one of the most explosive European bands today, Barcelona's CRISIX continues to make waves in clubs and festivals since the release of their critically acclaimed album, "Against the Odds," in 2018. The band members are music fans who want to pay tribute to their favorite groups by releasing a series of tribute albums. The first installment shines a spotlight on their North American Thrash Metal heroes, featuring covers of FORBIDDEN, VIO-LENCE, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, EVILDEAD, DEMOLITION HAMMER, ANTHRAX, and NUCLEAR ASSAULT. The album was recorded at Amplifier Studios in Barcelona, Spain, and mixed and mastered by Gerard Rigau.
The band comments: "We wanted to do a cover album for a long time, but there are just too many bands we love, so we decided to break it down into parts and release a series of albums focusing on specific styles. The first one is dedicated to American thrash. All of us in CRISIX are music fans, and we enjoy covering different bands and styles. When we travel in our van, we listen to all kinds of music and do various covers during soundchecks. We are collectors, so we’re sure you understand the kind of dilemma we faced when we finally decided which 8 songs to include in our first cover album.
We quickly realized that this is just the first cover album of an upcoming series. So, we ultimately chose 8 songs that represent the core of American thrash for us. This time, we didn’t cover METALLICA, SLAYER, OVERKILL, or MEGADETH, for example; there will be time for that later. For now, we are excited to release our first session: "Crisix Sessions #1: American Thrash"!
