Parra for Cuva returns in 2026 with a new LP – Nacar – and world tour, marking the next step in his ongoing artistic evolution. Known for creating immersive electronic soundscapes that combine organic instruments with detailed, emotive production, he now extends his vision with a renewed visual language and live experience that deepen the connection between
sound and space.
"Nacar takes its name from the Spanish word for mother-of-pearl an organic, iridescent material found inside seashells, known for its soft shimmer, imperfect beauty, and quiet depth. It became the guiding metaphor for the album, reflecting the idea of how the grit or grain of an initial musical thought can transform over time into something shimmering and striking.
The album is a time capsule of moments from the past two years. Written largely while touring, Nacar is shaped by the many places I was fortunate enough to visit. The coastlines of Mexico, France, Italy, Japan, Panama, Canada, Costa Rica, and the United States left a particularly strong imprint on the music. Life on tour can be fast and fragmented, but renting small houses between shows and setting up a minimal mobile studio always gave me a sense of stillness. Creating music in these moments remains one of the most precious and joyful parts of my life.
Like mother-of-pearl itself, the album shimmers soft, textured, and subtly hypnotic. A gentle Latin influence runs through the record, reflected in titles such as Selva Selva, Ritual del Río, and Nacar.
With this album, I set out to explore my inner landscapes and stay completely true to my own musical taste and artistic perspective. Nacar is meant to be experienced intimately on headphones, while traveling, or near the sea that inspired so much of it."
