Moth Eater is the bittersweet conclusion of our current trilogy which started with The Devil’s Cattle (2020) and Elektrik Ram (2023). Stylistically, we brought together all the sounds that were meaningful to us on the two previous albums, and basically gave them all a chance to shine, whilst relying less heavily on intricate synth and orchestral arrangements. We wanted to make an album that pulls the golden thread through the lore, but also an album that just sounds like us. Of course, lyrically it closes the book on many open ended questions from the previous two albums, as well as finally letting out a bit of rage from what was a difficult set of years. The album is also about accountability - sometimes our own (and realizing that we are in fact not God’s gift to man) and sometimes it’s about the accountability of others, and forcing them to take account of their mistakes. This album, unlike the others, isn’t born from a deep sadness, but instead is built upon rage with a goal of triumph. We will not go gentle into that good night. We will rage, rage against the dying of the light.
