In the decades that followed, increasingly dangerous viruses emerged from the destruction of ecosystems and global warming, with deaths in the hundreds of millions and then in the billions. Nuclear power plants are no longer safe, some are exploding, radiation is spreading and viral mutations are accelerating.
A virus called Covid-Z seems to bring the dead back to life. One of them, a cardinal during his lifetime, developed the new religion of the irradiated. Led by this fanatic, the dead mutate in their turn and the battle for the survival of humanity takes an even more desperate turn.
The Irradiated God claims his daily quota of human offerings.
