    Formed in London in 1970, Supertramp experienced their greatest global success in 1979 with their sixth album Breakfast in America.

    Marked by the individual songwriting of founders Roger Hodgson (vocals, keyboards and guitars) and Rick Davies (vocals and keyboards), the group were distinguished for blending progressive rock and pop styles as well as for a sound that relied heavily on the Wurlitzer electric piano.

    The classic lineup of Supertramp, which lasted ten years from 1973 to 1983, comprised Davies, Hodgson, Dougie Thomson (bass), Bob Siebenberg (drums) and John Helliwell (saxophone).

    From the brilliant Crisis? What Crisis?, through the equally excellent Even in The Quietest Moments and Breakfast In America, and ending with the sublime …Famous Last Words, these were Supertramp’s golden years.

    Kicking off on DISC ONE, with their show at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on 5th March 1976, while out touring the Crisis album, this recording from a live broadcast of the concert, remains a record of an exceptional early-ish gig.

    Next-up, DISC TWO features Supertramp at Queen Mary College, London on 10th November 1977, by which time Even In The Quietest Moments had been released, and the group were promoting what was their fifth record.

    This set concludes on DISC THREE with a 1983 show in Toronto, Canada on 24th August that year. Still touring the 1982 album …Final Last Words, this gig was among the best concerts Supertramp performed during the record’s tour.
