The new album by Texas Hippie Coalition is another hard-hitting collection of great songs from beginning to end. Kicking off with the first single “Hell Hounds", THC proves this dog hunts right out of the gate. Other songs like ‘I Come From Dirt’ and ‘Keep My Name Out Of Your Mouth’ are straight up punches to the face. With ‘I Teach Angels How To Fly’ and the title track ‘The Name Lives On’ the band showcases that there are many complex layers to this group’s “keep it rockin” theory of music. They also added everlasting songs like ‘Built For The Road’ and ‘Believe’, letting you know immediately that the name of THC will live on. Texas Hippie Coalition is often compared to the many great Southern Rock and Texas bands that came before them. But they are proving to the world that THC is not just following in the footsteps, they are leaving giant footprints. Not only is the band etching out a place for themselves in the multi-genre fields of music, they have created their own genre in ‘Red Dirt Metal’. You have to hear it to understand it.
