Edged Circle Productions is proud to present for the first time ever on regular black vinyl the cult album Harvest Ritual Volume 1 from Necrophagia. Necrophagia was first spawned dead in Wellsville, Ohio in 1984 and remains one of the very founders and originators of the death metal sound along with bands such as Mantas (pre-Death), Possessed and Morbid Angel.

Recorded in Norway in the early 2000s, the band saw a new formation with this release and also had a string of guest appearances from the likes of Joey Jordison (RIP) of Slipknot / Murderdolls and more. Among its line-up featured in this formation was members from Sigh, Gorelord, Immortal and Italy’s cult horror provocateurs Goblin.

Necrophagia was one of the very first death metal bands and their lyrics and theme focused on gore and horror movies since their beginnings, thus are seen as among the very first bands to welcome macabre themes into metal. Killjoy was the leader of the band and only original member until his sudden passing in March of 2018, Necrophagia ended as a direct result of this. The band broke up before in 1987 and remained inactive for more than ten years until 1998 when Philip Anselmo approached Killjoy with some riffs. He subsequently joined the band on guitar and wrote all the songs for the album Holocausto de la Morte.
