After Infinity return with "Beyond Eternity", the sophomore album following their acclaimed 2024 self-titled dbut. Formed in 2022 by guitarist, songwriter and producer Zsolt Szilagyi(Dreamtale, Frozen Factory), the Finnish project brings together an outstanding cast of guest vocalists and musicians, allowing each song to develop its own identity while remaining part of a cohesive artistic vision.
Blending melodic power metal, heavy metal and progressive influences, "Beyond Eternity" combines powerful guitar riffs, memorable melodies, rich orchestral arrangements and atmospheric keyboard textures. The album moves effortlessly between fast-paced anthems, epic compositions, introspective ballads and darker moments, offering a varied listening experience without losing its distinctive sound. Highlights include the progressive closer "Hands of Time" and the melodic standouts "King with no Crown", "Infinite Feeling" and "Everlasting Mark".
The album features guest performances by Paolo Ribaldini (Leverage, Delain), Mika Tauriainen (Entwine, Shamrain), Sara Strömmer (Shereign), Aitor Arrastia (Metal de Facto), Nitte Valo (Dreamtale, ex-Battle Beast), Leonard F. Guillan, together with Nina Kuronen, Jesse Henrik Eemeli and Skye Alley. Despite the variety of voices, the record maintains a recognisable sound anchored by Szilagyi's songwriting.
Lyrically, "Beyond Eternity" explores hope, anger, resilience, self-discovery and the passage of time, balancing personal reflection with broader social themes.
Produced by Zsolt Szilagyi featuring orchestrations by Gideon Ricardo, bass by Ville Koskinen, mixing by Benjamin Connelly (with Ari Laurila on "Whisper in the Air") and mastering by Jasse Kesti, the album delivers a modern yet organic production. Artwork is by Jobert Mello (Sledgehammer Graphix).
