Angel Dust are a German metal band from Dortmund, formed in the 1980s and initially connected to the speed/thrash metal sound of the German scene of that era. Early albums such as Into the Dark Past and To Dust You Will Decay displayed a fast, raw and direct approach, close to European speed metal energy and melodic Teutonic thrash. After a few years of inactivity, the band found a new identity in the 1990s with albums like Border of Reality, Bleed and Enlighten the Darkness, moving towards a more melodic, darker and refined power/heavy metal style, marked by powerful riffs, melancholic atmospheres and more expansive vocal lines.
