Arkona is one of the most diverse bands in its genre, yet this album stands apart from the rest of their discography. It marks their debut (ah, the charm of first albums…) and introduces the initial elements that will shape the band's identity. However, there’s something extra here that won’t be found in their later works. The production carries a nostalgic resonance, enveloping listeners in a ceremonial atmosphere dedicated to the gods of war. The keyboards, used in both symphonic and folk styles, easily create a chivalric and dark fantasy ambiance (especially with the addition of sounds like crows, bells, and rain…).
