In 2013, Quentin Regnault, Anthony Mateus, Mathieu Wilmann, Florent Giudicelli, and Baptiste Boudoux came together to form Aro Ora, which translates to "world – universe" in Maori. The band's debut EP, "Mahara" (2015), delivers powerful and modern metal, blending intricate melodies, effective grooves, and surprising rhythmic intensity. Aro Ora's sound universe draws from a wide range of influences, including Gojira, Lamb of God, Architects, and Chimaira. Following these impressive initial steps, the band continued to evolve their musical vision, developing a more intimate sound. This introspective work led to their first album (2019), inspired by observations of the current world and the cyclical relationships between the universe, the earth, and the individual. Through this new production, Aro Ora invites their audience on a spiritual journey where the strength of modern metal, infused with ambient and atmospheric colors, serves as a vessel for an unending quest for wisdom and knowledge.
