Bad Brains - Are You Ready: The First Studio Recording (Inner Ear - March 1979) - Vinyl

Trust Records announces their inaugural release in partnership with Bad Brains and produced in cooperation with band, the legendary but never-before-released first studio recording, Are You Ready: The First Studio Recording (Inner Ear - March 1979).

Mixed for release in 2026 by Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat) these six songs set the underground music world on fire in 1979 as the word of their ferocity spread like wildfire. Now, over 40 years later with heavy music back in the zeitgeist via bands like Turnstile, new fans of hardcore punk and longtime fans of the legendary D.C. punk alike will be able to hear the first document by a band that struck like lightning.

Press will be handled by Grandstand Media. The band reunited in upstate New York earlier this year for a photo shoot with photographer Atiba Jefferson. These photos represent the original lineup back together again for the first time in over a decade. The photos will be held back for the right press opportunity and we are confident that there will be interest from major publications on a story that unpacks the legacy and influence of the band from their very first recording in 1979 to their current place in music history as icons of punk and underground music.
