Formed in 1999 in Calais, BLISS OF FLESH has always been a highly charismatic band. Their dark and thought-provoking black/death metal style has ignited true passion across many European countries, attracting a steadily growing fanbase. The band has also built a fiery reputation for their devastating live performances. BLISS OF FLESH has developed a conceptual trilogy across three consecutive albums inspired by Dante's "The Divine Comedy," with their previous album, "Empyrean" (released in 2017 via Listenable Records), concluding this trilogy.
In 2020, they released their brand new album "Tyrant," which is based on the concept of "The Discourse of Voluntary Servitude" written by the French philosopher Étienne de la Boétie. Published in 1576, it asserts that while servitude may seem forced and obedience imposed on the people, appearances can be deceiving, and such servitude is, in fact, entirely voluntary. "Tyrant" showcases BLISS OF FLESH at their most accomplished and intense in terms of production, songwriting, and execution. The album features no breaks between tracks, reaching a new level of madness that becomes addictive. The new album was mixed and mastered at Vamacara Studio in France by HK (vamacarastudio.com), with artwork created by Nagash.
