Why introduce BURZUM? Varg Vikernes has profoundly influenced the Metal scene forever, through his writings, actions, and above all, his music. Since his release from prison in 2009, BURZUM has been releasing albums with remarkable consistency, each revealing a new facet of its creator. "Umskiptar" is, in Varg's own words, anything but a Black Metal album. While many elements resonate with this style, Vikernes aims to offer something very different with this ninth release. Meaning "Metamorphosis," this album deserves attention. The lyrical framework, entirely drawn from the Norwegian poem "Völuspá," combined with raw yet meticulously crafted melodies and Vikernes' haunting, ethereal, and at times raw vocal delivery, makes this new album incredibly intriguing.
