"With their fourth release, the iconoclastic and immensely talented one-man band from France, DECLINE OF THE I, continues to deliver an uncompromising sonic assault. A.K., a prolific and inspired multi-instrumentalist (known for MERRIMACK, MALHKEBRE, VORKREIST, SEKTARISM), returns to haunt our minds with 'Johannes.' From the very start, listeners are bombarded with philosophical samples, razor-sharp riffs, tortured screams, and arrangements of rare intelligence, drawing inspiration from both classical music and elusive electronic elements. DECLINE OF THE I forges its own path, standing apart from any trends, proving once again that the French Extreme Metal scene is a breeding ground for surprising artists, consistently offering innovative, abrasive, and uncompromising music. While many bands remain caught in an endless race for sonic extremity, A.K. distinguishes himself by delivering one of the most cerebral and original Black Metal albums to date. DECLINE OF THE I represents the unstoppable rise of a musician who is steadily leaving an indelible mark on the Metal scene. A MUST LISTEN, OVER AND OVER... BUY OR DIE!"
