Extinction is an Italian thrash/death metal band formed in May 1995 in the Lecce area. After releasing the demo “Progress Regress” in 1996, which gained attention from specialized magazines, the band disbanded at the end of 1997. The project was reborn in Turin in 2014 with original guitarist Danilo Bonuso, introducing frontwoman Alice Darkpeace, who brought wide visibility to the band after performing the single “Conspirators” on Italia’s Got Talent in 2016. In 2017 Extinction released their debut album “The Monarch Slaves” via Unholy Fire Records, followed by live shows in Italy and abroad, including Germany and Serbia. With a renewed lineup, the band released “The Apocalypse Mark” in 2019 through Revalve Records and toured Germany and Italy. Their third album, “Cryogenesis”, recorded at MK2 Recording Studio and produced by Davide Billia, was released by Punishment 18 Records in April 2023. The band has since continued to perform internationally, including appearances at major European metal festivals.
