Italian epic power metal band FLAMESTRIKE release their debut full-length album, “The Unholy March”, on January 29th, 2027 via Rockshots Records. Rooted in European power metal and classic American epic heavy metal, the record combines powerful riffs, heroic melodies and symphonic arrangements with heavier influences and medieval atmospheres.
Formed in Vercelli, Italy, in 2008, FLAMESTRIKE gradually evolved from performing covers to developing their own material, releasing the self-produced EP “Dark Clouds On The Obsidian Tower” in 2021. Following two independent singles in 2024 and further line-up developments, the band signed with Rockshots Records in 2026.
“The Unholy March” marks a natural progression in their songwriting, balancing direct, energetic passages with more elaborate compositions. Influences from black, viking, death and epic doom metal blend with folk and medieval elements, enriching the band's melodic foundations without compromising their distinctive epic identity.
Inspired by fantasy, mythology and historical events, the album explores warfare, betrayal, vengeance, honour and destiny through individual narratives rather than a single overarching concept. The title track “Unholy March” introduces a dark fantasy tale of a fallen commander returning from the dead to reclaim his sovereign's throne, while “Where Glory Awaits” showcases the band's expansive, heroic songwriting. The acoustic, medieval-inspired “The Death Scythe Has Come” further highlights their musical versatility.
Recorded at Edge Of Darkness Studio in Robbio, Italy, the album was produced, mixed and mastered by FLAMESTRIKE, with guest bass performances by former member Ivan Bovio and cover artwork by Kaijie Huang.
Combining traditional epic metal with a broader range of influences, “The Unholy March” will appeal to fans of Blind Guardian, Manowar and Ensiferum.
