Wrapped in the bands own musical and philosophical folklore, Fucked Up found ways to weave in elements of psychedelia, prog, AOR, punk, thrash, doom, and their permanent and lasting gift of guitar omnipotence to this monumental release. Spanning nearly 90 minutes “Year of the Rooster” hosts an impressive cast of collaborators including John Brannon (Negative Approach), Debsey Wykes (Dolly Mixture), Keith Morris (Circle Jerks), Graeme MacKinnon (Home Front), and Mac Kennedy (Poison Ruin). From start to finish Fucked Up gives us a non stop cinema of sound that has rarely, if ever, been matched by any of their contemporaries.
