Recorded at Silver Cord Studio in Ridgewood, Queens, 'Magma' was produced and mixed by Gojira. This marks the first album by Gojira to be recorded at their new New York base, which was personally built by brothers Joe and Mario Duplantier in 2014. 'Magma' has already been highlighted as one of the most anticipated albums of the year by American media outlets such as Rolling Stone, Decibel Magazine, and Consequence of Sound. Gojira gained international recognition with the release of their album 'L'Enfant Sauvage' (2012), which reached 7th place on the IFOP chart (20k copies sold in France) and received acclaim from both French and international media.
