Howard delivers a rock sound infused with Hammond organ, fuzz, and electronic elements that span decades. Drawing inspiration from legends like Deep Purple, Wolfmother, The Doors, and Black Mountain, this Parisian trio transforms sonic anachronisms into contagious energy. Following their self-produced debut EP ‘HOWARD I’ in 2018, they have been on a roll with live performances and opening acts for artists such as Yarol Poupaud, Last Train, Laura Cox, Mars Red Sky, Slift, The Psychotic Monks, and Dätcha Mandala. Their first album ‘Obstacle’ was released in 2020, just before the first lockdown. Although they missed out on a promotional tour and several shows with Kadavar, they received positive media attention. The band took advantage of the lockdowns to write and record their next album, ‘Event Horizon’. The singles ‘I Hear A Sound’ and ‘Bankable Sermon’ refine their sonic trajectory and set the stage for what’s to come. Born from an atmosphere of doubt, urgency, and paradoxical freedom, ‘Event Horizon’ reflects their desire to break down barriers between styles and shed labels. Expect generous doses of fuzz and saturation from the guitar and organ, alongside more introspective moments filled with emotion. HOWARD occasionally steps away from the synth bass to embrace the classic four-string, while the drums explore new possibilities with samples recorded and crafted by the band, in addition to traditional beats. Through this album, the group paints a perplexing portrait of a society marked by hyper-consumption, questioning the frantic pace that drives it toward a point of no return—this ‘event horizon’.
