The times may not be particularly cheerful, and JESSICA93's new album "Rise" is no exception. Goeff Laporte returns at the end of 2014 with his second album, once again recorded at the renowned 20G Recording Studio in Drancy, to impose his dark and abyssal vision of amplified music. This seven-track release unveils more diverse facets than his previous record "Who Cares" (voted "Best Album of 2013" by New Noise Magazine), featuring vocal parts that are both more intricate and more direct. The result is a dense soundscape filled with substance, reminiscent of the extensive works of JK Broadrick (GODFLESH and JESU, among others) and the dark hours of the eighties and the cure (notably "Pornography"). In addition to being a marathon performer with around fifty shows under his belt in the past year, including a notable appearance at "Rock en Seine," Goeff Laporte has also established himself as a studio workhorse, releasing an album each year for the past three years with his JESSICA93 project, which seems poised to make a lasting mark on the French rock scene.
