“Dark Hours” was Lion’s Share’s sixth album and, as the title suggests, perhaps their heaviest to date. Nils Patrick Johansson (Astral Doors, Civil War) once again takes the lead vocals on this album.
The band has made a point of bringing a menacing edge to this album, unleashing a veritable heavy metal storm.
‘Dark Hours’ was a pleasant surprise, as many bands often take it easier as they get older. But here it’s exactly the opposite: with dark undertones, an energy is unleashed – an energy that shows the band is continuing to forge its own path through modern power metal with melodic interludes. You only need to listen to the album once to appreciate what these experienced musicians have to offer, especially if you like the classic heavy metal traits: dark, melodic, catchy and menacing. ‘Dark Hours’ remains one of Lion’s Share’s strongest albums to this day.
